This program is designed for children who are curious about camping and are excited to learn the skills to have a fun camping experience! This week-long, camping-focused program begins by introducing campers to all the different skills needed to take a camping trip. The activities of the week lead up to a Thursday, daytime camp-out where the campers set-up an actual camp site!
Camp days are divided into five activity periods, plus lunchtime. The three morning activity periods are spent on camping skills such as tent pitching, shelter building, fire building, knot tying, and orienteering. Then Basecampers join the greater NEOC community for the two afternoon sign-ups.
Please know that late drop-offs and early pick-ups are strongly discouraged for campers in Basecampers on their camp-out day.
